Notifications and alerts
Choose workspace email and browser notifications, tune department severity, and troubleshoot missing alerts.
Notifications tell you about work that may need attention outside the page you are currently viewing. Open Settings → Notifications to manage the options available to your workspace.
Workspace notification preferences#
The notification settings can include email and browser alerts. Changes apply to your workspace experience, but delivery also depends on the browser, device, email provider, and the kind of event.
Choose the smallest set that reliably brings important decisions to you. Too many low-priority alerts can hide an approval or operational issue that needs a response.
Browser notifications#
Browser alerts require both the Winglo setting and browser permission. When you enable them, your browser may ask whether to allow notifications.
If permission is denied, Winglo cannot override it. Open the site's permission settings in the browser, allow notifications, then return to Winglo and confirm the preference is enabled. Operating-system focus modes can also suppress visible alerts.
Email notifications#
Email alerts are sent to the address associated with your account or workspace setting shown in Winglo. If messages do not arrive, check spam, company filtering, and mailbox rules. Do not mark legitimate security or approval mail as spam; adjust the Winglo preference instead when possible.
Department severity preferences#
When department controls are shown, choose which severity levels should produce notifications. Severity indicates how urgently Winglo believes an item needs attention; it does not replace your organization's own escalation policy.
Open the underlying item before acting. An alert can be caused by stale source data, a connector problem, or a missed deadline that has already been resolved elsewhere.
Notifications, badges, and Inbox#
A notification is a delivery mechanism. A navigation badge is an in-product attention count. The Inbox is the working list where many decisions and approvals are completed. Dismissing a browser or email notification does not complete the underlying item.
Use Inbox and approvals to review the actual request and Understand the Winglo dashboard to interpret navigation badges.
Troubleshoot missing alerts#
Check, in order:
- The item exists in Winglo and has the expected status.
- The relevant Winglo notification preference is enabled.
- The department severity setting includes that item.
- Browser permission is allowed, if using browser alerts.
- Operating-system or browser focus settings are not suppressing it.
- Email filtering is not holding the message.
Keep Inbox review as part of your operating routine even when external notifications are enabled.
